Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Constellation. (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Changi Kim (“we,” “us,” or “our”). If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. License to Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Constellation. on any Apple-branded device you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable law
  • Attempt to access the App’s source code

All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by Changi Kim.

3. Your Content

You own your data. The habit names and completion records you enter into Constellation. are yours. We claim no rights over them.

For free users: your content exists only on your device. We have no access to it.

For paid users with iCloud sync enabled: your content is stored in your personal Apple iCloud account. We have no access to it.

Because we cannot access your content, we cannot be responsible for backing it up, restoring it, or recovering it if it is lost. Back up your device regularly.

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Free Tier

Constellation. is free to download and use with up to 2 habits for the current month. No payment information is required.

4.2 Paid Subscription

Constellation. offers a paid subscription (“Constellation. Premium”) at two pricing tiers (prices may vary by region):

  • Monthly: $6.99 per month
  • Annual: $54.99 per year (a discount of approximately 34% compared to twelve months at the monthly rate)

Premium unlocks:

  • Unlimited habits
  • Full historical archive of all months
  • Monthly Reading of your patterns
  • Home-screen and lock-screen widgets
  • iCloud sync across devices (optional)

You may switch between the monthly and annual tier at any time through your iPhone’s App Store account settings. Changes between tiers take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.3 Billing and Auto-Renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period, monthly for the monthly tier, annually for the annual tier, at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your iPhone’s App Store account settings at any time. No cancellation fee applies.

4.4 Free Trials

If we offer a free trial, the unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you make a purchase. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free trial offers at any time.

4.5 Price Changes

We may change the subscription price at any time. Price changes will be announced in the App and will take effect at your next renewal period. You will have the opportunity to cancel before the price change takes effect.

4.6 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store:

On iPhone: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Constellation.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Premium features until that date.

4.7 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, use Apple’s official refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com or through the App Store.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, logo, icons, and the wordmark “Constellation.” (with period), is owned by Changi Kim and protected by intellectual property laws. The Cormorant Infant typeface is used under its applicable license.

You may not use our branding, name, or design elements without our written permission.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to circumvent any technical limitation or security measure in the App
  • Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the App

We’ve kept this list short intentionally. Constellation. is a private, local-first habit tracker. There is very little surface area for misuse.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any defects in the App will be corrected.

Constellation. is not a medical, therapeutic, or mental health application. It is a personal productivity tool. Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHANGI KIM AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $14 CAD.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be addressed by contacting us at hello@constellationapp.app. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Quebec, Canada.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App Store release notes. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends. Because your data is local (free) or in your iCloud (paid), termination does not automatically delete your data.

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Changi Kim regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements.
